In August of 2007, New Orleans’ City Councilman, Oliver Thomas pled guilty to taking bribes from Stan “Pampy” Barre, an ex-political operative, convicted felon and crony of former New Orleans Mayor, Marc Morial. Ex-councilman Thomas is now cooperating with the feds in an effort to reduce his prison time. According to previous news stories, yesterday would have been his sentencing date. Since no new news stories have been reported, one can assume that he is still cooperating with the federal government.
